Although Friedman is an adherent to the Documentary Hypothesis, this commentary - in a modern style and genre - including both the Hebrew text and Friedman's translation, contains some interesting and constructive ideas that will broaden perspective and understanding of the text. Needless to say, it is necessary to ignore many of the comments regarding the age and provenance of the text, but a useful modern commentary all the same.
